The Rock is a target-style course designed by Sir Nicholas Faldo, awarded the Best New Golf Course in Canada by Golf Digest in 2004. Built atop a very rugged Canadian Shield landscape, the layout boasts bold features, massive rock outcrops, dramatic elevation changes, challenging ponds and thick, tree-lined fairways. 

One of the more demanding golf courses in Muskoka, narrow, tree-lined fairways and sloping greens create a formidable test of target golf. To score well, precision is required.

Seguin Valley might just have some of the most interesting topography of all the Muskoka courses. Interestingly enough, the golf course is only a stones’ throw away from civilization, but getting out on the 2,000 acre property feels as remote as it gets.

It is very evident that the designer intended to incorporate the most dramatic elements of the property into the design. Cart only (no walking), there can be some significant distances between holes as the course searches for the next “jaw-dropping” piece of land to bring you to. The result is 18 truly unique, memorable, signature holes. 18 times you will step up onto the tee, take in the entire hole laid out before you, and smile in appreciation for something you have likely never come across in your golf adventures. It is a surreal experience.

Seguin Valley has pushed its way into the rankings over the last few years. After being snubbed for the first decade of its existence, enough word has gotten around of this hidden gem in the Canadian wilderness that the course is finally getting the recognition it deserves.
