The Ottawa Valley is a great spot to visit. Friendly and humble people, beautiful surroundings, The Valley as it is affectionately known, is always worth the visit.

Approximately 1 hr away from downtown Ottawa, The Valley it is the perfect distance away for a quick jaunt. It may only be  1hr away from Canada’s capital city, but it feels like a world away from the fast pace tempo synonymous with city life.

There are a number of hidden gem golf courses in The Valley that are must-plays. These courses are well-known within golfing circles, and the secret is getting out … The Valley has some tracks you got to tee it up on!

  1. Whitetail Golf Club: Whitetail is a gem, and it has received many accolades and recognition to show it is deserving of this title. The golf course has been recognized by Flagstick Readers as one the Best Public Course in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, and in 2023 was recognized by Golfpass as the #5 hidden gem golf course in Canada. This golf course routing is special, taking you on a journey through nature as your round gracefully maneuvers through this heavily treed property, in and out of the natural valleys, serving up one of the best “ebbs and flows” feel a golf course can deliver.
  2. Oaks of Cobden: designed by well known architect Robert Moote, the Oaks of Cobden is one of those hidden gem golf courses you happen upon. Well known by golf enthusiasts within a 1hr radius as a course that is ‘worth the drive’, the Oaks is a great golfing experience.
  3. Homestead at Wolf Ridge: Another design by Robert Moote, the Wolf is relatively new on the scene but has certainly made a big splash in a short amount of time. Framed out of some interesting land, the course is routed through natural wetlands, long-standing woodlands and open, undulating meadows. Mark our words, this track will impress!
  4. Pembroke Golf Club: One of the local’s most popular tracks, Pembroke Golf Club was established in 1922 as a nine hole golf course. It remained that way until 1982 when the second nine was added by renowned architect Graham Cooke. With holes backing onto the Ottawa River, you’ll love the views here!
