TPC Toronto Course at Osprey Valley is one of the rare places in Canada where you can show up for a weekend and play three completely different golf experiences without ever leaving the property. All three courses are Doug Carrick designs, but that’s about where the similarities end. If you’re trying to pick the right one for your next trip, here’s the honest breakdown golfers actually want before booking a tee time.
Heathlands Course

If you want the most traditional test on the property, start here. Heathlands plays firm and fast when the weather cooperates, and it rewards anyone who likes to keep the ball low and shape shots into tight landing areas. The fescue gives it a proper links feel, and the greens tend to have enough movement to keep you thinking on every approach. It isn’t the longest course, but it’s the one most likely to expose sloppy decision-making. Strong ball strikers usually walk off feeling pretty pleased with themselves. Mid-handicaps enjoy it too, as long as they manage expectations and don’t go hunting pins all day
North Course

If you’re bringing a group with mixed skill levels, or you want the “friendliest” way to ease into the property, the North Course is the smart play. It’s wider off the tee, less visually intimidating, and the green complexes are more forgiving. Conditions on the North are consistently excellent, and the routing has a nice flow that works well for first-timers. You still get the challenge you expect from a TPC venue, but it doesn’t beat you up the way a links layout or a heavily wooded course can. Most golfers would tell you this is the most approachable of the three without feeling watered down.
Hoot Course

The Hoot is the course people remember the most. It looks dramatic right off the first tee, with pine corridors, bold bunkering, and a few forced carries that get your attention. It isn’t as punishing as it appears, but the visuals alone change how you think your way around the round. The holes have personality, and the back nine in particular delivers some great risk-reward choices. If you want the most “fun” loop or you like courses that feel a bit different from standard Ontario parkland, this is your pick. It also pairs well with either of the other two if you’re doing 36 holes.
So which TPC Toronto course should you play?
Pick Heathlands if you want strategy and links style. Pick the North Course if you want something clean, modern, and friendly for all golfers. Pick the Hoot if you want the most memorable visuals and a round with a bit more edge. Most visitors end up playing two or three because the contrast is the whole point of coming to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.
